I will calculate shipping costs, and you can pay via Paypal or Venmo. If you are local (Sonoma County), I’m happy to arrange pick up or delivery, and you can pay with cash, check, or credit card. I apologize for not accepting payment directly through my website, but it’s challenging enough to simply keep up with inventory. Please just contact me and we can conduct business the old fashioned way.

This wood was brought back from the midwest by a fellow turning club member. There’s a reason why the wood is sought after. The filled hairline cracks provide a dramatic contrast. This piece feels substantial. Suitable for daily use. Finished with hard oil and wax.

One of a series of pieces made from a tree just up the street from where I live. I’ve never seen bay laurel with this sort of feathery color pattern. I don’t know if it’s due to an organism, soil characteristics, or what, but it’s extraordinary. A very large bowl, suitable for a big gathering and daily use. Finished with hard wax and oil.

If you are a fan of work that shows off raw natural forces, this might be for you. With cracks, bug holes, an erratic natural edge, and dramatic figure, it was not a foregone conclusion that this blank would make anything other than shavings. Oil/varnish and wax finish.

This was bleached on the outside, left natural color on the inside, with very durable milk paint for contrast on the lip. Milk paint is super tough, and totally food safe. Suitable for daily use. Oil and wax finish.

I’m actually not sure if this is cherry or plum - they’re very similar fruitwoods. Whatever it is, it has lovely, variegated colors. Suitable for daily use. Oil and wax finish.

I received a load of 8 bay root burls from a local heavy equipment operator. The wood has been spectacular, with all sorts of character. Winged bowls create the impression of the wings “cutting through” the bowl, but they are turned from a single piece of wood. Oil/varnish and wax finish.

This exquisite piece of wood was gifted to me by the great woodworker David Marks. Two bowls came out of it - the cut edge piece featured in the gallery, and this live edge beauty. Glassy smooth, thick walls, a live edge, and lively shimmering reds and browns make a bold statement. It feels almost like stone, rather than wood. Finished with oil/varnish and museum-grade wax.
